Members of the Barton County Young Professionals group are invited to participate in a free leadership training series, offered through the Golden Belt Community Foundation. The third part of the series, "How to be Effective in Meetings," will take place over a brown bag luncheon on Wednesday, January 16th at 12 p.m. in the Chamber conference room, 1125 Williams. The six-part series addresses leadership competencies such as: How to be Effective in Meetings, How to Identify the Problem, and Visioning for our Communities. Each of the six topics is inspired from the same leadership competencies addressed in the Community Foundation’s Leadership Golden Belt program.“We feel that every young person should have access to leadership training, even if they can’t afford it,” says Chamber Marketing Coordinator Rachel Mawhirter. “Our goal is that Young Professionals members will grow from their training and possibly sign up for the entire Leadership Golden Belt class to garner more leadership knowledge.”Those who attend four of the six leadership sessions will receive a certificate of completion that they can add to their professional portfolio.
