The Barton County Young Professionals group will gather for the 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 11th at 7p.m. at the Kiowa Kantina inside Kiowa Kitchen, 214 E. Barton County Rd A. “Ugly sweaters are a great conversation starter,” Chamber Marketing Coordinator Rachel Mawhirter says. “The whole purpose of our group is help young people network and get involved in the community, so the sweaters are a fun way to break the ice.”In addition to a casual and fun atmosphere for networking, the Christmas party also serves as an opportunity for Young Professionals to give back to their community. “Admission into the party is a donation of food or cash to the Barton County Food Bank,” Mawhirter says. “We’re starting to give back in small ways, with hopes of doing bigger and better things in the coming months.”Those in attendance will also enjoy free food, door prizes, and the first fifty people through the door will get a free drink courtesy of the event sponsor, Satellite Pros. Employers in Barton County are asked to lead the charge in the group’s growth.
