U.S. DOT HazMat Workshop

The U.S. Department of Transportation will host a series of FREE Hazardous Materials Transportation Workshops throughout the State of Kansas during the month of January. A workshop will be held in Great Bend, Kansas on Wednesday, January 30th at Barton Community College from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE:

7:30-8:30 a.m. - Registration
8-8:15 p.m. - Workshop Overview
8-9 a.m. - How to Use the HMR (Hazardous Materials Regulations)
9:15-10:15 a.m. - Training and Security Requirements
10:30-Noon - Package Selection, Marking & Labeling
12-1 p.m. - Lunch (on your own)
1-2 p.m. - Shipping Papers & Emergency Response Information
2:15-3:15 p.m. - Placarding Requirements
3:30-4:30 p.m. - Anhydrous Ammonia Nurse Tanks
4:30-4:45 p.m. - Wrap Up Questions & Answers

This free workshop is open to any business who handles HazMat packaging throughout the year. This would include but not be limited to:

Hospitals
Welding Shops
Oil Well Services
Beverage Companies
Farming Co-ops
Propane Companies
Paint Supply Stores
Department Stores
