The Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, located at 3209 10th Street in Great Bend, is going to be receiving a major facelift over the next few months. In the meantime, they want to use their current decor to raise money for the Family Crisis Center's Child Advocacy Center, a program that provides forensic interviews, advocacy and support for children who have been sexually, physically or severely emotionally abused as well as children who have witnessed violent crime and their non-offending caregivers. From April 5th through April 17th, Great Bend residents can participate in a fun silent auction at the Applebee's restaurant. Bid sheets will be attached to all the items on the walls that will no longer be featured in the new design. The 10-day fundraiser will give customers a chance to bid on the items they want to purchase by leaving their name and number next to their bid. After the close of business on Wednesday, April 17th, all the winning bidders will be contacted by phone. Buyers are responsible for picking up and paying for their items on Saturday, April 20th from 8-10 a.m.During the facelift process, Applebee's does not plan to be closed during normal business hours. The Great Bend Applebee's is open from 11 a.m. to midnight daily. For more information, call 620-792-8800.
